Defination Of Thermocouples

Thermocouples element consists of two wires of dissimilar alloys welded together at one end, when these ends of the elements are exposed to a temperature gradient an electro motive force is generated.

RTD (pt100) is available in 2 wire and 3 wire connection generally 3 wire is used RTD is used for temperature range -200oc to 550oc also available in simplex type and duplex type.
